True story. I saw a cave shining in the sky. It looked like a giant cave in a cloud from which warm golden light was emanating. Uh… how can I get to this cave? Curiosity and imagination turned into two wings and in few moments I was sitting on the edge of a cloud. As soon as I saw the gigantic thunder harp, I realised that I was in the palace of the goddess Perkūnas. I thought I gonna meet an angry man who throws thunderbolts to unexpected visitor, but Perkūnas turned out to be much more pleasant than most of the stories portray him. Apparently those story tellers met him in other circumstances. The goddess did not look terribly militant and angry, but opposite in gentle manner he kindly welcomed the curious bird.
Before I imagined Perkūnas Palace like a Mordor from Lord of the Rings. And here is the place from which Perkūnas awakens the earth and life in the spring with thunder and rain. Here is the whole memory of life energy that is in every living thing, maybe because of that, when visiting the palace, I always had the feeling that I have been here before.
This painting is a fulfilled promise to the goddess Perkūnas and at the same time it is a ticket to return to the palace, no longer alone, but with more birds.
