In my inner valley I found such a dark forest where my feelings were hidden. Those darker, wetter, colder, feelings that I didn’t want to see in the light of day. Probably I thought it would be better for them all to stay together in that darkness.
As I kept wandering the paths of my inner fields, river valleys, or high hills, I looked into that dark forest from afar. Just like in fairy tales, there is a forest that is forbidden to enter, because no one comes back from there alive.
But one day, just as the Sun was moving over the equator, a storm began in that forest. The trees swayed, the wind blew, and one such gust caught me and carried into that forest. Darkness, everything is roaring, the exit is not visible either. And as in a dark room, where somebody suddenly turns on the light, the Sun illuminated the roaring forest from above, injecting her rays like nails.
The enlightened swamp appeared in all its beauty, and the stormy feelings that had long been in the darkness arose in the light of day, became visible. And the pearl of all of them was a skull shining in the glimmer of a sun, like a silent warning to “remember, you gonna die.” What is it? Is it a sense of one’s own inevitable death, or is it the great motivator of life forcing me to look for answers to the existential questions “what’s next?”, “Who am I and what will I become?” After all, over the centuries, we have put our hands on our skeletons and asked, “Where does life flow and what remains of it?”
Life itself remains untouched by currents of time, it constantly shares itself. What we give remains, so the ray of life penetrates deeper and deeper, and in it shines Power, Wisdom and Love forever.
Constant pulsation, breathing. I exhale and inhale, the wave appeared and subsided.

Savo vidiniame slėnyje aptikau tokį tamsų miškelį kuriame buvau apgyvendinęs tokius jausmus į kuriuos dienos šviesoje žiūrėti nelabai patogu. Na ir patys tie jausmai tokie labiau tamsesni, drėgnesni, šaltesni, turbūt pamaniau, kad jiems ten visiems kartu toje tankmėje bus smagiau.
Vis klajodamas po savo vidinių laukų takelius, upių slėnius ar aukštas kalveles pažiūrėdavau į tą tamsią girelę iš tolo. Visai kaip pasakose būna tas miškelis į kurį uždrausta įžengti, nes iš ten niekas gyvas nesugrįžta.
Bet vieną dieną, kaip tik tą, kai Saulė persiritinėjo mūsų pusėn per pusiaują, tame miške prasidėjo audra. Medžiai siūbavo, vėjas pūtė, vienas toks gūsis pagavo mane ir nunešė į tą miškelį. Tamsu, viskas griaudžia, išėjimo irgi nesimato. Ir kaip tamsiame kambarėlyje kas staiga įjungtų šviesą, taip Saulužė nušvietė ūžiančią girią iš viršaus suleisdama savo spindulius tarsi nagus.
Nušvitęs raistas pasirodė visu gražumu, ir audringi jausmai ilgai buvę tamsoje iškilo dienos švieson, tapo matomi. O visų jų perlas buvo miškelio viduryje, saulės blyksnyje žibanti kaukolė, tarsi nebylusis perspėjimas „atsimink, kad mirsi“. Kas tai? Ar tai savo paties neišvengiamos mirties nuojautą, o gal didysis gyvenimo motyvatorius verčiantis ieškoti atsakymų į egzistencinius klausimus „o kas toliau?“, “kas aš esu ir kuo aš tapsiu?”. Juk dažnas amžiams bėgant dėjome rankas ant savo griaučių ir klausėme, “kur nuteka gyvenimas ir kas iš jo lieka?”.
Lieka pati gyvybė, nepaliečiama nykstančių laiko srovių, ji nuolatos save dalina. Išlieka tai ką duodame, taip gyvybės spindulys skverbiasi vis giliau, o jame amžinai spindi Galia, Išmintis ir Meilė.
Nuolatinis pulsavimas, alsavimas. Iškvėpiu ir įkvėpiu, banga atsirito ir nuslūgo.

Imagine the birth of the Sun. What gigantic cosmic processes took place. And all that we now call the world, or each other, once stirred and boiled there in molecular clouds. We started to shine and then we left for a journey to seek our own experience as the sun’s rays. The more diverse the experiences, the stronger it knit the Sun by allowing her to shine more and more. New rays spread, carrying in them a small reflection of the Sun.
And now when we look at sunrise or sunset the sense of longing appears. Maybe it reminds us about our home? And what to do with that own Sun that we carry? To plant and to grow, to plant and to grow…
The picture reveals both micro and macro cosmos and at the same time Sun of the painting transforms into a self-dividing cell or ovum in which new life begins to develop.

Įsivaizduokite Saulės užgimimą. Kokie gigantiški kosminiai procesai įvyko. Ir visa tai ką dabar vadiname pasauliu ar vienas kitu, kadaise ten maišėsi ir virė molekuliniuose debesyse. Tada sušvitome ir kiekvienas kaip Saulės spindulys leidomės ieškoti savo patirties. Kuo patirtys buvo įvairesnės, tuo stipriau jos pynę Saulę taip leisdamos jai šviesti vis labiau ir labiau. Skleidėsi vis daugiau naujų spindulių, kurie savyje nešė po mažą Saulės atspindį.
Ir dabar kai žiūrime į saulėtekius ar saulėlydžius juk dažnai apima tas ilgesio jausmas. O gal jis primena mūsų namus? Tik ką daryti su ta sava Saule kurią vis nešame kiekvienas? Sodinti ir auginti, sodinti ir auginti…
Paveiksle atsiskleidžia tiek mikro tiek makro kosmosai ir ta pati Saulė virsta save dalinančia ląstele ar kiaušialąste, kurioje pradeda vystytis naują gyvybę.

This is the view of the storm happening in an ocean, when water is mixing with a sky, and rain’s gestures make the surface even more stormy. The bloody ocean is wandering like a wounded animal. Somewhere in the distance looks like it is brightening, but it is unknown if it is going to swim out.
Probably most of us realise about the scale of oceans as much as we have seen in a map or through a window in a plane. But what does it mean to find oneself in such an infinity of the Pacific Ocean? Swimming across it during a favourable wind takes 5-10 weeks. Thousands of years old inspiring stories about how the inhabitants of the Pacific ocean’s islands found new islands overcoming thousands of kilometres in a wavy unknown, reminds me of a contemporary human, who tries to overcome even bigger distance, only now in the space of a cosmos.
This wish to know, to expand the limits of our comprehension are those qualities that make human different in nature. Cleverness is like a gift for him, but at the same time it is the biggest trial. Along the humanity’s discoveries goes a systemic destruction of this planet. Now death in oceans is seeded not from terrible storms, but from death machinery, which dissects the bottom of the ocean with fishing nets as big as cathedrals. Now the insatiable human became the storm to the ocean itself, where what remains is only a bloody footprint instead of a perfect ecosystem.

Audros vykstančios vendenyne vaizdas, kai vanduo maišosi su dangumi, o lietaus mostai dar labiau audrina paviršių. Blaškosi kruvinas vanenynas tarsi sužeistas žvėris. Kažkur tolyje lyg ir šviesėja, bet ar išplauks jis nežinia.
Turbūt daugelis apie vandenynų mąstelį galime nutuokti tiek, kiek esame matę žemėlapyje ar pro lėktuvo langą. Bet ką reiškia atsidurti tokioje vandens begalybėje Ramiajame vandenyje? Perplaukti jį pučiant palankiems vėjams užtrunka 5-10 savaičių. Įkvepiančios, kelių tūkstančių metų senumo istorijos kaip Ramiojo vandenyno salų gyventojai atrasdavo naujas salas įveikdami tūkstančius kilometrų banguota nežinia man primena šiuolaikinį žmogų kuris bando įveikti dar didesnius atstumus tik jau kosmoso erdvėje.
Tas noras pažinti, plėsti savo suvokimo ribas žmogų tarsi išskiria iš gamtos. Sumanumas jam kaip dovana, bet tuo pačiu didžiausias išbandymas. Lygiagrečiai žmonijos atradimams, kolkas žengia ir sisteminis planetos naikinimas. Dabar vandenyne pražūtį sėja ne baisiausios audros, bet mirties mašinos skrodžiančios vandenyno dugną žvejybos tinklais su lyg katedromis. Dabar nepasotinamas žmogus tapo audra pačiam vandenynui, kur vietoje tobulos ekosistemos lieka tik kruvinas pėdsakas.

As I walk through the woods, I try to guess the muzzle of a birdsong. It sounds like a fairy tale full of the splendor of the stars in the sky. With their voices, they open nature trail that we can only walk inside ourselves. They show us the way illuminated by the sun, where inspiration is matured on the branches of the forest. In the love songs of birds, I hear the sanctity of nature, how it is important to cherish her. They soothe the heart and remind of home to the flying soul through the mirror of the river.
Happy are those who hear this forest tale, the eyes full of life I can notice in them. And for the creative soul, it is like nectar full of life force. When we allow the language of the forest to speak from within, this whole tale turns into a stream of wisdom – it speaks with words, sounds, images or dance. We learn to read our silence. Desires turn into inspirations, and it is vital to share them in our community. In this way, we encourage each other to grow and move towards out nature.
This tale is about eternity, without a good or bad end, it’s about the inexhaustible light of the source – please read it for me every evenings.

Vaikštau aš po mišką ir bandau įminti mįslę apie ką toji paukščių kalba. Ji skamba tarsi pasaka kupina dangaus žvaigždžių spindesio. Savo čiulbesiu jie atidaro neįminamą gamtos taką, kuriuo pasivaikščioti galime tik vidumi. Skrydžio mostais jie rodo saulės nušviestą kryptį, į įkvėpimą subrandintą ant miško šakų.
Paukščių meilės giesmėse girdžiu gamtos šventumą, kaip branginti ją svarbu. Jos nuramina širdį ir upės atspindžiu skrendančiai sielai primena apie namus.
Laimingi tie kurie šią miško pasaką girdi, akis kupinas gyvybės galiu pastebėti juose. O kuriančiai sielai, tai kaip nektaras kupinas gyvybinės jėgos. Kai miško kalbai leidžiame prabilti savo vidumi, visa ši pasaka virsta išminties srovele – ji prabyla žodžiais, garsais, vaizdais ar šokiu. Išmokstame skaityti savo tylą. Troškimai pavirsta įkvėpimais, o jais gyvybiškai svarbu dalintis mūsų bendruomenėje. Taip skatiname vienas kitą augti ir žengti savon prigimtin.

Sometimes you feel this unexplainable longing for home. For home, where it seems I haven’t even been. There are no reminders left about this home- no smells, no tiny reminder bits in the shadow of the memory, except for this longing feeling. And so I walk along sunsets, each time mingling with this longing, I dream and I build in the air this dream home in God’s garden. Interestingly, the Sun always reminds me of home. And in this canvas everything started precisely with the Sun. Its’ rays started laying out the whole composition and it swirled till I understood that I was in a nest. It is so warm and nice in those featherbeds of birds, but it is not enough to revive there once, you’ve got to get over yourself again, to cut through the shell body and to feel what the coolness means. While in a nest, I observe my parents- how they fly and live in the air. Their freedom is tempting and my nature is already talking about it. Holding on to father’s hand, I was afraid to leave home, I looked timidly to the disappearing mother’s face and asked, “why?” Just like for a small bird, embracing the unknown, the moment stretches in time, so for me the first flight was a real jump into unknown. And just as I got that this spirit of parents’ wings is leading me into unknown- I rose up. Limitless space of being, now I settled myself there.

Kartais sukyla toks nenusakomas namų ilgesys. Namų kuriuose atrodo manęs net nebuvo. Nei kvapo nei jų aplinkos trupinėlio atminties šešėlyje neliko, apie šiuos namus primena tik ilgesio jausmas. Ir vaikštau aš saulėlydžiais, kaskart mindamas tuo ilgesiu, svajoju ir statau ore tą svajonių klėtelį Dievo sode.
Idomu, bet visada man apie namus primena Saulė, ir šioje drobėje viskas prasidėjo būtent nuo jos. Ji savo švaistykle pradėjo dėlioti visą kompoziciją ir sukosi tol kol supratau, kad esu lizdelyje.
Taip šilta ir gera tuose paukščių pataluose, bet juose vieno karto užgimti nepakanka, tenka ir vėl perlipti save, prasikalti pro kūnu tapusį kiautą ir pajusti ką reikšia vėsa.
Būdamas lizde stebiu tėvus, kaip jie skraido ir gyvena ore. Ir vilioja mane toji jų laisvė, apie ją jau kalba mano gamta.
Įsikibęs tėvo rankos bijojau palikti namus, nedrąsiai žvelgiau į tolstantį motinos veidą ir klausiau “kodėl?”.
Kaip mažam, nežinomybės apimtam paukšteliui akimirka ištįsta laike, taip ir man pirmasis skrydis buvo tikras šuolis į nežinią. Ir vos supratęs, kad toji tėvų sparnų dvasia, mane lydi joje – aš pakilau.

As a child, I was afraid of snakes. Even when I saw the snake on the TV screen, I got my feet up on the couch. Why did I feel fear of the snake but not of the bird or fish? After all, this fear of snakes is often more innate. And not so long ago in our culture, the relationship with the snakes was so close.
Our ancestors were fascinated by the image of an immortal serpent and it was the snake that came out of the skin, the slough of an old body that brought respect to this creature. Perhaps when this relationship diminished, only associations with eternal life remained in the subconscious, which can really cause horror in modern culture. Maybe when I saw the snake as a child, I was scared of that eternal life, because living in eternity requires a constant transition through death. And as children, we still remember this process well, because recently we have been going through it. After all, getting out of the skin is not such an easy process, it means running all over yourself, which often hurts. But trees are acting the same every year, plants that dry up when their seeds mature, do the same. And the serpent reminds us of this bridge of death that we will each cross.
The picture shows the serpent wake-up call in the spring time. “Giwate, ragana, smyx per wałena” was an old spell for snake charmers to wake them up. In doing so, the ancestors invited nature to wake up. Because if nature does not wake up, it will not give food, so we will not wake up either, eternity will stop.
Then the snake is followed by the woman of the earth. Perhaps it is the Žemyna… Its body position is reminiscent of the Sun symbol, it brings new life, fruit as a light and a promise, it refreshes the fertility of the earth.
Embracing nature in mythology, ancestors described the reality of our earthly experience. Only by realizing our reality and our nature we can create and stand firm on the eternal path.

Vaikystėje bijojau gyvačių. Net pamačius per televizoriaus ekraną kojas susikeldavau ant sofos. Kodėl jaučiau baimę gyvatei, bet paukščiui ar žuvytei ne? Juk pas dažną ši baimė gyvatėms yra labiau įgimta. O juk dar ne taip seniai mūsų kultūroje santykiai su žačiais buvo tokie artimi.
Mūsų protėvius žavėjo nemirtingo žalčio vaizdinys ir būtent gyvatės išsinėrimas iš odos, seno kūno palikimas kėlė pagarbą šiam padarui. Galbūt šiam santykiui sumenkus, pasamonėje liko tik asocijacijos su amžinu gyvenimu, kuris šiuolaikinėje kultūroje išties gali sukelti siaubą. Gal išvydus gyvatėlę aš vaikas išsigąsdavau to amžino gyvenimo, nes gyvenant amžinybėje nuolatos reikia pereidinėti per mirti. O būdami vaikais šį procesą dar gerai pamenam, nes būname dar netaip seniai jį patys praėję. Išsinerti iš odos juk ne toks lengvas procesas, tai reiškia paleisti visą save, o tai dažnai skauda. Bet juk taip daro ir tie patys medžiai kurie kas met sužaliuoja ir rudeniop išeina myriop, augalai kurie sudžiūva subrandinę savo sėklas, taip darome ir mes žmonės. O gyvatėlė mums primena apie šį mirties tiltą kuriuo kiekvienas praeisime.
Paveiksle užfiksuotas pavasarinis žalčio budinimas. “Gyvate, ragana, šmikšt per velėną” buvo senas žalčių užkalbėtojų burtažodis jiems pažadinti. Taip elgdamiesi protėviai kvietė gamtą pabusti, gyvatė – gyva, žaltys – žalia. Nes jei gamta nepabus, ji neduos maisto, taip nepabusime ir mes, sustos amžinybė.
Paskui žalčiuką seka ir žemės moteris. Galbūt tai Žemyna… Jos kūno pozicija primena Saulės simbolį, ji atneša naują gyvybę, vaisių kaip šviesulį ir pažadą, ji gaivina žemės derlumą.
Apipindami gamtą mitologija protėviai nusakydavo mūsų žemiškos patirties tikrumą. Tik suvokę savo tikrovę ir prigimtį mes galime kurti ir tvirtai žengti amžinuoju keliu.
